HARDEE COUNTY, Fla. — One man is dead after a motorcycle crash in rural Hardee County on Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says 63-year-old Mark Wheatley of Venice, Florida was riding eastbound along Sweetwater Road near Crewsville Road when his bike ran off the road, and began to overturn. He was separated from the motorcycle and landed on the road's shoulder.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said.
FHP said it is unknown at this time if the crash is alcohol related.
We was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
